Marcus has had a long time obsession with Matchbox Monster Trucks. I think he has collected most of them. This weekend a few of them came to town for a Monster Jam show at the new Matthew Knight Arena and as a surprise we took the kids. And was Marcus surprised!
Turns out we had the best seats possible and we came prepared with ear plugs and ear muffs. This arena is particularly small so they do not bring in dirt and limit their show. It was a good thing I did not buy these tickets with the adults in mind, I would have been quite disappointed. Marcus however, was loving every minute. We of course spent every minute watching his reactions...they were priceless! His favorite is Captain USA (in the back). He had an opportunity to meet the driver last year and has been a fan ever since. Complete with personalized autographs...yes, Marcus will be talking about this for a while.
McKenzie made her debute Tuesday on her high school softball team. It was a double-header against a local team. She played second base for both games and did well, we were proud of her. This was her first hit and sent it out to center field. Yeah, I'm her biggest fan! So proud of you Honey.
This weekend marked the first home game series of the 2011 Ducks baseball season. Blankets and all, we were there for all three days of games. The temperatures dropped quite low and a little too extreme for our liking so we did not last for the entire game in the 28 degree temperatures. Never-the-less we made it for each game to show our support. Marcus sat in a little blanket cocoon... And we cheered for the green and yellow. Go Ducks!
